DIGITAL & EMERGENCY PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEMS AT MADRID´S ADOLFO SUÁREZ AIRPORT

The project was to bring digital public address to parking lots P2 and P4 and Terminal 4 access roads and to replace the analogue public address systems in Terminals 1, 2 and 3 with digital equipment distributed via wire centres. At the same time, an electro-acoustic improvement was required and sound points (speakers) were amplified in Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

Since Terminals 4 and 4S already had digital sound systems, it was necessary to integrate everything into a platform capable of managing, operating and maintaining all the existing public address systems. The whole system had to run through the multiservice network.

The project also contemplated an emergency public address system which, in the case of failure of the Multiservice Network, provided the airport with another way to carry operator messages to each wire centre and from there distribute them to the sound points. To do this another specific network was created so that the system can use both networks to send PA messages via the shared amplifiers and speakers.
